Enter the VIA Treasure Trunk SoulBound Access Token
Louis Vuitton is launching its second NFT collection, and this time, it is smartly addressed to fans only. How? La Maison is using SoulBound Tokens (SBT), a type of NFT that can belong to one wallet only and hence cannot be transferred or resold; in other words, no flipping for speculators.
The benefits of a #LouisVuittonVIA trunk reach beyond just owning a $41,000 Louis Vuitton physical trunk.
The VIA Treasure Trunk Utility
The possibility to purchase exclusive products, whether digital or “connected product”
Louis Vuitton will propose 2 to 3 drops per year for at least the next 3 years
Community collaboration in collection drops: finally, brands turn customers into a “community” which gives a sense of inclusiveness and ownership instead of just a transactional relationship)
Access to privileged experiences (I wish they could define this!)
Pharrel, as their recently named Creative Director, will be the first artist to reveal Louis Vuitton’s collectible to those who hold #LouieVuittonVIA digital trunk.
Those who cannot purchase the trunk can participate in LV’s ecosystem by purchasing digital keys (not the Trunk) on secondary marketplaces.
But NFT Should Reward Loyalty First
Vuitton doubling down on NFTs is a great validation for the technology and using SBT is a great system to avoid market volatility. However, this will definitely discourage speculators but not necessarily motivate fans.
I believe brands should establish a framework to qualify their “true” or at least loyal fans and reward them by making sure to onboard them to Web3 and, for example, offer discounted NFTs or airdrop FAN tokens to give them a true recognition of their loyalty.
Anyway, let’s give them at least the benefit of trying new experiences

Gucci has ventured into the endless world of Yuga’s Otherside by offering a phygital experience to Koda NFT holders. The virtual space is filled with captivating characters, intriguing stories, and surprising wonders. The first item to be introduced is Otherside Relics by Gucci - a multifaceted necklace crafted by the brand in the physical world. This necklace serves as a metadata upgrade for Koda or Vessel NFT holders. The sale encompasses a digital metadata update for the buyers’ Koda and Vessel NFTs, cosmetic options in Otherside that include a branded chat handle and trail VFX, plus redemption of a physical Gucci pendant.

Puma’s Metaverse, Black Station, is Now Live
Puma owns its Web3 ID
First it's worth noting that Puma's Twitter handle is actually their ENS, which is pretty cool and shows their full immersion in Web3. In Web2, we can buy a domain name for our website where people follow our news and other information. In Web3, users can easily acquire an Ethereum Naming System (ENS) to secure their digital identity and identify wallet addresses. It is then easier to follow “on-chain” data and transactions.
Black Station is PUMA’s very own 3D spatial playground. A unique Web3 space that enables the NFT community to experience the brand like never before. The Nitro Collection NFT gives premium access to Black Station’s Futrograde experience, with more to come later.
The PUMA Materializer NFT is burned to redeem a physical pair of shoes.
The PUMA RB Token was airdropped to PUMA Pass holders in June, 2023. Holders of the RB Token can burn it between June 13th and June 20th at BlackStation.PUMA.com.
Doing so grants that wallet access to the product drop occurring there. You do not need a PUMA Pass to burn the Token and access the drop.
By creating a gated website, Puma has created a complex Web3 experience requiring users to be somewhat Web3 savvy. This probably left a lot of fans out of the drop.

Forj Startup Wins Yuga Labs Brand Accelerator
The FORJ team has received the green light from the Ape community to grow the BAYC IP. The start-up will incubate and launch projects contributing to the APE ecosystem.
The Animoca-backed start-up will foster the Yuga ecosystem and help expand the branding by nurturing projects and leading partnerships. Expect a lot of events and collaboration in gaming, fashion, food, and other markets.
FORJ founder Harry Liu worked with several Web3 companies, such as Binance, where he demonstrated a thoughtful crypto mindset and successful execution.
